Real Wedding: Dominique & Taylor

Within the first few chapters of their relationship, Dominique and Taylor realized that the best parts of their lives were the moments shared in exciting travels, laugh-out-loud conversations, spontaneous date nights, late night drives, and family dinners. They’ve promised each other that they would always create moments to bop to the beat of happiness, love, and resilience.

Several chapters later, in 2019, the two graciously welcomed a precious new character to their love story: their newborn. As love would have it, Dominique and Taylor would become inseparable, allowing their faith in God to set the rhythm for the beautiful love story that they share today.

Q: Any advice or tips for future Mrs.?

Don’t sweat over the little details! I know, better said than done, but it won’t even matter when the day is here. Oh! And, when you walk down the aisle touch something (someone gave me this advice) whether it be your ring or veil touch something because it will all feel so surreal.

Q: What was the inspiration behind your wedding theme:

Our wedding theme was a Winter Wedding Wonderland due to our wedding being in January.

Q: Tell us your love story! Where & How did he propose?

After a season spent miles apart, back in 2015, Dominique Bickham and Taylor McCarthy would finally meet each other in-person, one year later. These natives of Dallas and Frisco, respectively, were a bit anxious to meet offline. It was during their first date, at one of Taylor’s favorite Italian restaurants, that the two bonded over their deep appreciation of music and family values, which greatly subdued their nervousness. As love would have it, Dominique and Taylor would become inseparable, allowing their faith in God to set the rhythm for the beautiful love story that they share today.

Several chapters later, in 2019, the two graciously welcomed a precious new character to their love story: Noah Shai Bickham. With the tender first sounds of their newborn’s cries, Taylor’s admiration for Dominique was deepened since the two first met online. She fell in love with him all over again, in awe of his unwavering patience and compassion for their son. While she adores his heart of gold, he admires her ambitious spirit. There’s not a day that goes by that Taylor doesn’t praise Dominique as one of the “world’s greatest” fathers. In 2020, a pandemic was added to this storyline, strengthening their faith in God as well as faith in themselves to navigate this uncertain chapter. Still bopping to the beat of happiness, love, and resilience, Taylor and Dominique look forward to the blessings that lie ahead. Together, these best friends are proud to be the doting parents of Noah, and they look forward to raising him in their new home as Mr. and Mrs. Bickham.

Q: What was the best/most memorable part of the day?

My favorite wedding day memory was the toasts! My parents, my husband’s grandfather and my father, my matron of honor, my maid of honor, our son’s Godfather, my sister in law and my uncle each were SUPPOSED to do 2 minute toasts each. However, my uncle took it upon himself to do a 10 minute speech about only me.My mom and his wife tried to take the mic from him but he was determined to finish his speech. It was hilarious. Had nothing to do with us as a couple but it was probably the most rememberable speech. I also loved my parents speech when the discussed how my husband stepped up and really proved himself to them when our son was born. It was a tough pregnancy. He was in the NICU for awhile and my husband would drive me to my grandmothers so I was closer to our son since he was airlifted to a hospital further from us, then he would drive to work, then back to the hospital then back home every day. He was so tired but such a trooper.
